Thoughts For Friday + The Pick: Week 27

FRI-YAY!! This morning looks like me happily working in my pajamas and sipping a hot something or other...maybe it's hot chocolate or a caramel apple spice (bring on cider and fall!). Thanks to me numbering the weeks through The Pick, I just realized that we're over halfway through the year! How crazy is that?!

I feel that this week has truly flown by. I'm not too sure what it was that made it feel that way, but I'm certainly not complaining. I know there has been a whole lot of catching up, cleaning up, and prepping in the Hill household. Between a gender reveal party coming up (I can't wait!) and a house that just needs to be cleaned, we've been busy bees. This weekend is welcomed!

And for a little flashback Friday moment, check us out almost a year ago....(can I have that long hair back already??)

This Friday, I'm reintroducing myself. With some new faces around here I thought it would be fun to give you a quick rundown about me, about us!

I'm Astleigh and I'm married to my slightly bearded best friend whom I refer to as husband on the blog. Outside of the blog, husband is known as Pete. We're approaching our second wedding anniversary on October 5, and while marriage can certainly be work, there's nothing more worth it and I love life with my guy. We are expecting a sweet little babe in December (the 26th is our due date, hello Christmas baby!). This baby is a sweet blessing and miracle after experiencing a miscarriage with our first pregnancy. The two of us are over the moon about this gift!

I write and design by day at a medical college, and husband is a graduate student in engineering while also working full time. We're both Virginia born and raised, and that's where we reside now. I'm smitten with fall, or more like obsessed. I'd live in fall all year round if such a thing existed. I'm crazy for baking and home décor. You can find me whipping up a dessert or rearranging accent pieces more times than not. I absolutely love the holidays, and I get so much joy just from decorating for each one! And if I'm not decorating for a holiday, then I'm sprucing my home up with seasonal touches!

Fresh flowers are my love language, I firmly believe you can never have too many accent pillows, mascara is always a must if all other make-up is forgone. I am crazy for candles, would love to be a Gilmore girl, and overused Pinterest when it first came out (circa 2011?). I'm all for taking photos and capturing moments, especially little films. I'm a Starbucks junkie, enjoy a good DIY, saved by a mighty Savoir, and am the biggest fan of ombré hair coloring.

I've been blogging at Hill Collection, formerly Tales of Two Hills, since December 2012. I can't believe it's almost been three years! I have fallen hard for blogging and making a scrapbook of our life. Not to mention the community I've become a part of and the blogging friends I've made! My hopes and dreams for this blog are to turn it into a full time job and one day guest post/write for magazines. Thanks for reading and sharing in this sweet adventure with me!

If you feel so inclined, introduce yourself in the comments below! I love getting to know people better!

p.s. BLOGGERS, DON'T FORGET.....MONDAY WE WILL BE SHARING/LINKING UP FOR OUR HOUR BY HOUR WEEKEND!! If you're not sure what that is, check out this post I did several weeks ago. I hope you join me!

  5. I have to remember to take pictures this weekend to participate in the link-up! Even if I take a normal amount of pictures I should be able to format it for at least every few hours...I hope!
