Greer's Nursery

Greer's nursery is one of my favorite rooms in our home! Each detail has been carefully picked to make a sweet space for our tiny girl. I loved piecing bit by bit together, making the perfect oasis for not just her, but for the three of us. It will be a space that our family will and does spend an ample amount of time in.

The concept for Greer's nursery came from scratch. I wanted her room to feel cozy, yet clean, and bright while subtly colorful. The style for her nursery was to create a space she could grow into over the years, and wasn't necessarily babyish. The white furniture was our starting place, followed by the rocker, and the frames. From there, as I found something that I couldn't part with, it slowly made it's way into her room's accents. Because there was so much white, I really wanted to bring in natural wood, specifically for shelving. That's how I came up with the idea for industrial shelving. The pipe used to hold the shelves up also happened to match the knobs on the dresser/changing station.

Don't get me started on how much I adore the cedar planks that act as shelves! Pete's friend and college roommate planed the cedar and cut it into the measurements I gave him. Together the two of them finished the cedar planks and polyurethaned them. I couldn't love how they turned out more! And I had way to much fun collecting whimsical pieces to decorate them.

We just finished the nursery a couple of weeks ago with the addition of a rug, succulents, a stuffed rhino for the wall, and black and white prints from our newborn session. The frames have been hanging on that wall since last June, and it felt so amazing to finally have them filled. Not to mention the photos in them melt me; my baby has changed so much in two months!

Greer's nursery feels complete now. I know over the years her room will morph into more her style. And I love that she has classic pieces to act as her foundation, giving her room to grow and make her own mark in her space. For now, I'll soak up rocking my baby in this favorite space of mine!
